Health and Safety
The Sullivan Family of Companies is committed to providing guests and staff at the 2024 Mahalo Event with an experience that is as safe as possible. Currently, the COVID-19 community level for the City and County of Honolulu is low, and most of the Mahalo Event activities will be outdoors or in large indoor spaces. Based on current public health guidance, we ask that participants exercise personal responsibility and follow the CDC’s COVID-19 guidelines, but we will not be requiring additional measures, such as proof of vaccination, testing or wellness checks for participation in the Mahalo Event.
In general, we ask that all guests, volunteers/vendors and employees attending the 2023 Mahalo Event follow the CDC’s guidance for COVID-19 safety. Current CDC guidance is outlined below, but attendees should visit www.cdc.gov/coronavirus for the most up to date and more detailed CDC guidance.
Stay home if you are sick
Monitor symptoms and follow healthcare provider instructions
Wear a high-quality mask or respirator when around other people
Test for COVID-19 if you are experiencing any of these symptoms: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea
Consider wearing a mask to protect yourself and others
Wearing a mask is not a general requirement to attend the Mahalo Event; however, attendees are encouraged to consider wearing a mask, and should wear a mask if they believe they feel sick or believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19
When wearing a mask, it is most important to choose one that you can wear correctly, that fits closely to your face over your mouth and nose, that provides good protection, and that is comfortable for you
If you are at high risk of getting very sick, talk with a healthcare provider about additional prevention actions
Sanitization
Attendees are encouraged to wash hands frequently and/or utilize the hand sanitizing stations available at the event venues
Symptomatic and positive case protocol
Attendees experiencing potential symptoms of COVID-19 should not participate in event functions and should seek medical attention if necessary
Attendees who test positive for COVID-19 during the event or within 3 days after leaving the event are asked to notify the SFOC risk management department so that we may conduct a contact tracing interview
If you were exposed to COVID-19
Wear a mask as soon as you find out you were exposed
If you develop any symptoms, isolate immediately, get tested, and stay home until you know the results.
Even if asymptomatic, consider testing on day 6
Isolate if you test positive
The SFOC may update this policy at any time based on the level of community transmission or government restrictions in place.
